A campaign to raise funds for the building of the new St. Mary's Schools and Center was launched on January 1, 1996. The original goal was seven million dollars. This milestone was surpassed in September of 2002.

But this success is dampened by bizarre changes in the Bay Area construction industry. These changes have driven building costs skyward and severely impacted numerous building programs, including the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, the Oakland Airport, Laguna Honda Hospital, as well as our own Schools and Center.

 

 
Gross estimates have forced us to add millions of dollars more to our initial campaign goal. A second phase to raise the remainder will be needed.
To our knowledge this is the largest endeavor for private funds ever waged by any entity in the Bay Area's Chinese Community. We shall be eternally grateful to all our supporters for their generosity and networking. Aside from fund-raisers for Chinese Hospital of San Francisco, we cannot recall any cause in our community eliciting the contributions of so many associations, businesses, and individuals. We take this broad support to be an endorsement of the service St. Mary's has rendered for nearly a century.
We are thankful to God and to all of our donors. St. Mary's will need your continued financial assistance to build a new St. Mary's Chinese Schools and Center.

Ways To Help Our Campaign

Cash, Stocks, Bonds, and Property

Cash donations and transfer of stock, bonds and property may be contributed to "St. Mary's Building Fund." For more information about transferring stocks and bonds, please refer to the Stock Transfers document. All donations are tax-deductible as we are an IRS Code 501C3 organization. Alternatively, contributions may also be made to the John Yehall Chin Foundation, also a 501C3 organization. Donations are gladly accepted over time in the form of a signed pledge. Please fill out the Pledge Form and send or fax (415-929-4698) it to us. We will be happy to send you updated lists of naming opportunities. We have many naming opportunities available. We would be honored to remember you or your loved ones as part of this great enterprise.

Planned Giving

Perhaps you would like a more sophisticated, mutually beneficial method of planned giving such as a charitable remainder trust. Our attorneys and accountants will be glad to help you. To get started, please feel free to fill out the planned giving document.

Donation of Used Cars
